Loana Piper is Beloved’s Bay Area Program Manager and previously served as the lead Self Determination Advocate at the Young Women’s Freedom Center. She is a queer young woman of Black and Vietnamese descent from Oakland, California who experienced housing insecurity, involvement with child protective services and was part of the underground street economy growing up. All of this has made her extremely passionate about transforming systems that impact young women and trans youth and making sure Black, Brown, and Indigenous youth have the opportunities to determine the course of their lives, She is a fierce advocate for Black and Brown communities and committed to fighting oppressive and unjust systems.
