About me

Nusayba Guiro is currently pursuing an advanced master’s degree in Social Work at Portland State University, with plans to graduate next year. Her academic journey has been deeply personal and transformative, marked by consistent top performance and a steadfast dedication to social work.

She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Bennett College, the first all-women’s HBCU, where she graduated at the top of her class. Nusayba’s path to higher education was shaped by her experiences with limited resources, and she worked hard to support herself through college with scholarships and perseverance. These experiences have fueled her passion for making a positive impact and supporting those around her.

At Bennett, she founded and led the Green Team, focusing on environmental sustainability and community initiatives. This role allowed her to engage closely with communities, driving efforts to make a real difference and advocate for meaningful change.

Originally from Oakland, CA, Nusayba is deeply committed to uplifting others and addressing social inequities. As an HBCU college queen and a current MSW Fellow at Beloved, she remains dedicated to creating opportunities and support for those in need.

Nusayba is eager to bring her experience and passion for social justice to the team and looks forward to collaborating with others to make a lasting impact.
